The role:

Reporting to the Kilns Manager and working as part of a small team; your main responsibilities will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the continuous drying kilns, associated equipment and forklifts to maintain timber flow through the kilns.

Working a continuous shift roster (inc. weekends/public holidays), rotating through day/afternoon/night shifts, plus overtime as required, including one 4-day weekend per month.

This is an annualised salary position, which includes 5-week’s annual leave.

You:

  • have a strong commitment to working safely, with the ability to follow procedures
  • are a reliable and punctual employee with effective communication skills
  • are able to solve problems and adapt to changing situations
  • can effectively prioritise your workload and work autonomously, as well as in a team
  • Is flexible and able to work morning, afternoon, and night shift on rotation
  • Have basic to intermediate computer skills

A high-risk forklift licence, knowledge of kiln drying, air dry yard functions, timber sizes and density grades would be highly regarded, but not essential.
