Portland OR, October 18, 2012 – A consortium headed by The Campbell Group LLC (TCG) has completed the purchase of over 250,000 acres of forestry assets in the Green Triangle plantations of Southern Australia.

TCG’s President and CEO, John Gilleland, said the forestry assets of the South East of the State were among the highest quality softwood plantations in Australia.

The assets were previously owned and managed by the government of South Australia. Under the agreement, TCG will oversee the forests for the next three forward rotations, approximately 105 years. ForestrySA will continue to manage the forest. The government of South Australia selected TCG following a competitive bidding process.

“The Campbell Group has sought quality timberland assets in this part of the world for some time. We are pleased to have completed the Green Triangle transaction to acquire the forward rotations, which we consider to be the preeminent softwood resource in Australia,” said John Gilleland, President and CEO.

TCG has an emphasis on working closely with and investing in the communities where they do business. This includes the Grow the Good program, where local offices are given seed money to invest in non-profit organizations of their choice to help grow the good in their community.
