The OneFortyOne Jubilee Sawmill is one of the largest and most modern sawmills in South Australia, employing local people, and supporting our community. We believe in an inclusive culture that is rich in diverse thinking and experience.

We’re currently looking for a fully qualified Saw Doctor or an aspiring apprentice to join the Saw Shop team at Jubilee Sawmill in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

The role:

We are open to applicants interested in completing a Saw Doctoring apprenticeship as well as anyone with relevant skills and experience.

As a valued member of the Saw Shop team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently undertaking trade duties related to saw maintenance and sharpening for a wide range of timber mill machinery across the Jubilee Sawmill site.

Pay & shift rotations:

Qualified Saw Doctors:

  • Work a rotating 3 shift roster between day/afternoon/night, 5 x 8-hour shifts per day, Monday – Friday, with overtime as required. 
  • Paid Classification MGST (Saw Technician) with 15% shift loading additional on afternoon shift and 30% loading additional on night shift.

Apprentices:

  • Begin on permanent day shift until considered ready to rotate through shift.
  • Apprentice rates start at $26.83 p/hr and increase each year up till trade completion, with applicable shift loadings.

You: 

  • hold a valid saw doctor trade qualification or be interested in gaining one
  • are keen to continually learn and develop
  • have a professional, positive, can-do attitude
  • have well developed problem-solving skills with some mathematical & mechanical aptitude
  • are able to work effectively independently or in a team environment
