We’re looking for a Forester to join our Resources and Planning Team to support the continued growth of our forest business. Reporting to the Planning & Compliance Manager you’ll work across operational planning, resource assessment, natural resource management, improvement projects, and compliance and certification processes.

The Role:

In collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders you’ll make sure our forest operations are efficient, safe, and sustainable. You will also:

  • develop and quality-assure forest operation plans (establishment, silviculture, harvesting, fire protection, measurement).
  • contribute to harvest scheduling using tools like Remsoft Scheduler.
  • coordinate forest measurement programs using advanced technologies (LiDAR, UAV, Resistograph).
  • support compliance, certification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • maintain and analyse resource datasets to inform decision-making.
  • engage with stakeholders including contractors, councils, and government agencies.
  • participate in fire readiness and response activities.

You:

  • have qualifications in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field and, or equivalent experience in forest operations planning and resource assessment.
  • have experience in forest resource assessment, GIS (ESRI) and data analysis.
  • are familiar with technology tools like Plotsafe, YTGEN, Remsoft Scheduler/Woodstock, Tigermoth, Trimble LRM and Microsoft Office.
  • have knowledge of forest certification, compliance, and safety systems.
  • understand silviculture, pests, diseases, and ecological planning.
  • have had exposure to remote sensing technologies (LiDAR, UAV, satellite), and possibly UAV piloting.
  • are experienced with projects and contractor management.
  • communicate well, build strong relationships and have stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • are curious, willing to learn, proactive and keen to improve systems and processes.

This role also requires you have a current Australian drivers licence, to be physically fit, participate in fire response activities and enjoy working outdoors in all conditions.
