Following on from the success of last year’s Christmas tree give away, OneFortyOne Plantations is once again looking to gift Christmas trees from its regional forests to the people in the Limestone Coast this Christmas.

“We were overwhelmed by the community support of last year’s give away”, said OFO’s Green Triangle General Manager, Willie van Niekerk.

“Our depot teams were touched by people sharing their stories, and how a little kindness can mean so much to people and their families at Christmas”, he said.

With this in mind on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th December OneFortyOne will gift about 150 trees to the public from its three depots at Mount Gambier, Nangwarry and Mount Burr. The trees will be available on a first come first served basis outside of each depot from 12 noon.

Mr Van Niekerk said, “Our team has done the hard work and cut the trees down, and we are once again delighted to make some trees easily available to members of the community who might not otherwise go into the forest and get themselves a real tree”.

If you are planning on snagging a tree in the give-away, please remember you will need to make sure you can safely and legally secure your load on the way home.

Depot Locations:

  • 152 Jubilee Highway East, Mount Gambier, SA 5290
  • Riddoch Highway, Nangwarry, SA, 5277
  • Mount Burr Road, Mount Burr, SA, 5279

OneFortyOne acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their deep connections to land, water, and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations people today.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, Māori communities have a strong spiritual connection between people and the land – the wellbeing of one sustains the wellbeing of the other. We strive to build meaningful relationships with iwi as tangata whenua (people of the land/region), to be responsible intergenerational kaitiaki (stewards/guardians) of the land where our forests grow.
