Despatch Forklift Operator

The OneFortyOne Jubilee Sawmill is one of the largest and most modern sawmills in South Australia, employing local people, and supporting our community.

We’re currently looking for Forklift Operator to join the Despatch team at Jubilee Sawmill in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

The role:

The position reports to the Despatch, Inventory and Security Manager. As a member of the Despatch team, you will be responsible for ensuring despatch activities are conducted in an accurate and consistent manner to guarantee that the customer’s product is delivered on time and to its highest quality. Key tasks include:

  • Loading trucks with finished timber goods including semi-trailers, B Double and Road Trains
  • Unloading trucks with incoming goods
  • Relocating finished goods in preparation for despatching
  • Using scanning technology to track despatched products

Starting hourly rate of $31.79 (Classification MGTIG5). Once fully trained and assessed, the hourly rate increases to $33.20 (Classification MGTIG6) with 15% shift loading is additional on afternoon shift.

The Despatch team works a rotating day and afternoon roster, 5 x 8 hr per day shifts, Monday – Friday with overtime as required. Day shift is 6am – 2pm and afternoon shift is 2pm – 10pm.

To be successful, you must:

  • hold a High-Risk Forklift Licence with previous forklift experience and truck loading experience desirable
  • take pride in attention to detail with the ability to work with accuracy
  • have a strong commitment to working safely, with the ability to follow procedures
  • be able to work independently and in a team, demonstrating strong communication skills
  • are able to solve problems and adapt to changing situations
  • have insightful decision-making skills with the ability to prioritise tasks  
  • have intermediate computer skills
