Wendy Norris, CEO said “Since 2019, OneFortyOne’s Annual Review has been an opportunity to reflect on the year that was and the path forward. Our journey towards a better tomorrow is not just a strategic priority but a core part of our identity and ambition.”

A Year of Progress and Resilience

Now in its 12th year of operation OneFortyOne has continued to build on its strong foundation, delivering sustainable growth and value to stakeholders.

Wendy expressed her pride in the company’s achievements: “Our team members and partners have been the driving force behind our performance this year. Their efforts have supported each other, our customers, and our communities, demonstrating the resilience and commitment that define OneFortyOne.”

OneFortyOne’s commitment to safety remains paramount. Significant capital investments have been made at the Jubilee and Kaituna Sawmills to enhance safety measures. The company has also focused on strengthening a culture of safety leadership and care, ensuring that every individual feels safe to raise concerns and address wellbeing matters promptly.

“Our primary objective is to ensure that every person comes to work and goes home safe and well every day,” said Wendy. “We have made substantial investments in safety and are continuously working to build positive cultural conditions that support this goal.”

The company’s dedication to community is exemplified through its Pine Community Grants Program and long-term partnerships supporting diverse projects in science, education, and nature. Surveys conducted with recent grant recipients have provided valuable insights into the impact of these grants, helping organizations achieve both short-term and long-term project goals.

Looking Ahead

Despite challenging market conditions, OneFortyOne remains committed to its investment program, focusing on long-term growth and sustainability.

“We are here for the long term,” Wendy emphasised. “I extend my gratitude to our people, our Board, contractors, partners, and customers for their exceptional dedication and support. Together, we are making a significant impact and paving the way for a better tomorrow.”

About OneFortyOne

OneFortyOne is a forestry and sawmill business. We operate throughout the Green Triangle region of Australia and the Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough regions of New Zealand (Top of the South).

We manage over 160,000 (ha) of land including pine plantation and conservation areas. Throughout our plantations we plant over 4 million seedlings every year, renewably replacing the trees that we harvest.

The timber processed at the OneFortyOne Jubilee and Kaituna sawmills is turned into products that help people build and renovate their homes, construct their fences, and support the landscaping in their gardens and farms.

Our businesses are significant regional employers, we employ more than 500 people directly and over 3,000 indirectly ascontractors.

We are committed to the communities where our people live and strive to make a positive difference through our environmental actions and community involvement, including grants.

OneFortyOne acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their deep connections to land, water, and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations people today.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, Māori communities have a strong spiritual connection between people and the land – the wellbeing of one sustains the wellbeing of the other. We strive to build meaningful relationships with iwi as tangata whenua (people of the land/region), to be responsible intergenerational kaitiaki (stewards/guardians) of the land where our forests grow.
