Financial Accountant

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, and working as part of a knowledgeable wider finance team, this is a hands-on role that will afford you opportunities to challenge and develop your skillset over time.

THE ROLE

The Role

• Particpate in the month end process, including facilitation of foreign exchange rates, balance sheet reconciliations, data management, and reviewing of reconciliations across multiple sites
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset registers
• Fixed Asset schedules management, including provision of capital expenditure reporting
• Tax compliance, across GST, FBT, PAYE, and WHT
• Manage the monthly payroll for the NZ salaried employees
• Support in a range of other functions, including Statistics NZ surveys, KPI reporting, maintenance of fuel pricing data, Forestry Rights reporting, and other project work as required
• Back-up for the Financial Administrator and Commercial Administrator roles, also any other needs across the wider OFO-NZ team
• Eye for efficiencies and continuous improvement

Your Profile

• Relevant working experience in either a commercial or practice setting
• Accounting Degree, Diploma, or other relevant qualification preferred
• Sound understanding of accounting concepts and standards
• Experience using accounting systems, with NetSuite being an advantage
• Strong in Excel and other relevant tools such as Power BI
• Team player, motivated to work collaboratively with the wider team and business
• Developed critical and analytical skills, a high rate of accuracy, and best practice approach
• The ability to relate to a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
• Full, unrestricted working rights within NZ
