Greenmill Shift Supervisor

Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

We’re looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join our Jubilee Sawmill team in Mount Gambier.

The Greenmill Supervisor will work with different teams to optimize results across safety, quality and production, and develop strategies for continuous improvement in the sawmill.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in sawmilling or production
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising/leading teams
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with others
  • Computer skills in SAP (or similar system), Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Practical understanding of organisational ESHR standards and legislative requirements
  • Post secondary studies in Business Management or leadership

As a leader you will actively promote a culture where employees’ safety, risk and environmental issues are paramount. You will interact with the other section supervisors and managers to ensure all finished products are delivered to customers on time, and comply with company and industry standards.

Silvicultural Worker/Grader Operator

Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

We’re looking for someone who can work autonomously, undertake road maintenance grading operations, manual silvicultural and fire protection operations, operating heavy plant and agricultural machinery while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.

Ideally you will have:

  • Secondary education, minimum year 10
  • Experience in a forestry / agricultural related field
  • Experience in operating heavy plant, a grader in particular and agricultural equipment
  • Understanding of forest management practices in plantation forests
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work under general direction, understand and apply quality control techniques
  • Ability to work autonomously and organise workload to meet agreed timeframes
  • Ability to establish productive and effective working relationships to facilitate cooperation and support to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience and complete compliance with safety and operational aspects of heavy plant operations including but not limited to pre-starts, daily and ongoing maintenance adherence, reporting and recording of maintenance activity
  • Experience in firefighting activities
  • Current Australian driver’s licence

You should be physically fit, enjoy working outdoors in all conditions and be eligible to work in Australia.

The Kaituna Sawmill is located 20km west of Blenheim. As a modern, efficient sawmill with modern equipment including boiler, continuous kiln and saw centres. Kaituna Sawmill plays an important role in the local processing of timber.

Wood sales are strong, and demand for our products is high, creating an opportunity for us to seek new qualified team members.

Some roles are five days a week, others are on a four day shift pattern. You do not need to have previous sawmill experience as we will provide full training.
