Electrician

Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

OneFortyOne is looking for an Electrician to join the Jubilee Sawmill.

This position reports to the Electrical Supervisor. Your main responsibilities will be to safely and efficiently carry out preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, repairs, breakdowns and plant improvements across the Jubilee Sawmill Site.

Ideally you will have:

  • Able to solve complex problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to prioritise & act with a sense of urgency to ensure plant uptime targets are achieved
  • Able to work effectively independently or in a group
  • Willing to work to grow our apprentices
  • Proven ability in the effective management of safe work practices
  • A professional, positive, can-do attitude. Skills are important however the right attitude is essential

The prospective candidate must have the relevant trade qualification, “A” Grade Electrical License SA or equivalent and will require the flexibility to work a rotating 3 shift roster.

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Jubilee Sawmill.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing solutions that service our modern sawmill. The role will incorporate problem solving from conception through to implementation, with the successful applicant working collaboratively with the maintenance and production teams and external contractors.    

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in design from conception, implementation of capital projects and process improvement projects
  • The ability to manage projects throughout their entirety to achieve milestones
  • The ability to solve complex problems and recommend solutions
  • Effective communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations, contractor performance and implement effective quality control
  • Proven ability in the effective management of safe work practices
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or experience / suitable education or trade background

Program Manager – Forest Digital Twin

Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

OneFortyOne is committed to redefining the value of fibre and we’re always looking for ways to innovate across our operations, from breeding the best-performing trees through to future uses of wood fibre.

Reporting to the Resources and Planning Manager, the Program Manager will lead the Forest Digital Twin initiative which, through the construction of a Forest Digital Twin and application of Industry 4.0 technologies, will drive value creation for many years to come. You will lead and implement projects contributing to the construction and evaluation of the Forest Digital Twin.

As part of the GT Forests team, you will also be responsible for developing and deploying methods to extract individual tree models, designing and building a dynamic prototype Forest Digital Twin and developing applications that demonstrate how these technologies add value to the business.

Partnering with the OneFortyOne Technology Team the Program Manager will apply technical skills in LiDAR remote sensing, robotics, machine learning, coding, algorithm development, data and system management to solve problems and develop industrial strength applications. Ideally you will have the ability to draw on elements from multiple STEM disciplines, insightful problem-solving skills, expertise in seeking input and partnering with others, and project leadership and implementation experience.

Technical Forester

As the Technical Forester, you will oversee a wide range of tasks including planning and supervision of various forest technical operations, such as establishment survival surveys, foliage sampling, age 3 tree crop performance, fertilising, soil testing and trial measurement.

You will report to our Research Manager, who has nearly 40 years of forestry experience in applied research, technology and silviculture in both Australia and NZ. As a newly created team, you will consider new ways to innovate and use technology in your every-day decision making. You will leverage off research from organisations like SCION and apply those learnings into our Forest Estate. You will have the scope to improve systems and have a real impact on the growth and value of the Forest Estate. This team in an integral part of the Resources Group of OneFortyOne.

The Environmental Forester is responsible for the delivery of environmental compliance programmes and improvement strategies and oversees the environmental engineering infrastructure including fish passage, culverts, and bridges.  Knowledge and/or experience with the environmental aspect of forest roading infrastructure will be beneficial. 

You will have an Environmental or Forestry Degree with industry experience, passion for environmental management and the ability to work well with others while enjoying quiet time reading and interrupting legislation. A great career move, this role has succession planning potential.
