What the Senior Poplars Class loves about the forest…

Seniors Poplars Class – Tenison Woods College

The senior Poplars class at Tenison Woods College have visited our local forests regularly over the last ten years. They love the sights, sounds and smells that surround them, along with the potential for adventures.

In the past, we have used our visits to gather pinecones, go for extended walks and plant trees for One Forty One.

This year, we focused on practicing the photography skills that we have been learning at school. The forest provided the perfect backdrop for us to experiment with our iPads and use some creativity.

OneFortyOne acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their deep connections to land, water, and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations people today.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, Māori communities have a strong spiritual connection between people and the land – the wellbeing of one sustains the wellbeing of the other. We strive to build meaningful relationships with iwi as tangata whenua (people of the land/region), to be responsible intergenerational kaitiaki (stewards/guardians) of the land where our forests grow.
